FedEx secures 20 million gallons of SAF at five US airports

FedEx has signed new agreements projected to secure more than 20 million gallons of unblended sustainable aviation fuel across five major US airports through 2027. The fuel will be supplied at blend ratios ranging from 30% to 50%, depending on location. The procurement builds on agreements secured since 2025 and supports the company’s goal of sourcing 30% of its blended jet fuel from alternative sources by 2030. The expansion also signals greater aviation demand for SAF, although wider adoption remains dependent on reliable supply, suitable infrastructure and competitive costs
