Econetix Closes Million-Dollar CORSIA Deal As Airlines Race To Secure Eligible Credits

Econetix completed its first delivery of CORSIA Phase 1-tagged credits to a major international commodity trading house, fulfilling a million-dollar offtake agreement signed earlier in 2026. The company did not disclose the buyer, delivered volume, project, price or delivery schedule. Econetix said the transaction demonstrates its ability to move credits from an Article 6-authorized project portfolio through registry tagging and commercial delivery as airlines and traders seek supply ahead of the January 2028 cancellation deadline. Its next project in the pipeline is a Rwanda cookstove initiative expected to deliver 1.3 million CORSIA Phase 1-eligible credits. Econetix said its portfolio complies with Tool 33 requirements and is supported by host-country Letters of Authorization, under which corresponding adjustments are intended to prevent the same emission reductions from being counted toward both CORSIA use and host-country climate targets.
